There are just 10 days to go until Devon and Cornwall voters face the decision "of a generation" in the EU referendum - and the latest polls have the Leave and Remain camps neck and neck.

The debate has brought together politicians from across the political spectrum, as they put party politics aside to campaign for Britain's future relationship with the EU.

This morning, the Conservative MP for North Devon, Peter Heaton-Jones, issued a joint statement alongside former Lib Dem MP Sir Nick Harvey and fellow general election candidates Mark Cann and Ricky Knight, urging voters to vote "In".

This followed a warning from former Tesco boss Sir Terry Leahy that quitting the Single Market will mean higher food prices.

This afternoon, the Plymouth Herald and Western Morning News are running are live blog of our first Q&A session with local MPs. This is an opportunity to put readers' questions to a representative of each side of the debate.

The session starts at 4.45pm and updates will be posted below. A full transcript and video of the debate will be published later this afternoon. Follow our live feed below.

A reminder of the questions:

  • How is staying in is good for our NHS, given the pending TTIP deal, which threatens to open our NHS up to competition?
  • Why should we vote to remain under the rule of unelected EU presidents, rather than for greater autonomy?
  • EU laws and regulation provide a number of protections for persons with disabilities. Over the past few years, the government has increasingly cut benefits for the disabled. If Britain leave the EU will this give the government carte blanche to reduce them further?
  • The EU contributes to educational exchange schemes for students (Erasmus+);what is the future for these exchanges?
  • Should such animportant decision be left to the public rather than being made by parliament?
  • With the NHS, schools, prisons, utility supplies andhousing at breaking point, road and rail congestion, increasing crime to name afew, how many more immigrants can we comfortably accommodate?
  • Currently EU can overrule British courts, impose sanctionsand demand change in legislation. Shouldn't we vote to regain sovereignty?
