Countdown to Christmas: What is there to do in Plymouth?

YOU have watched all of the Morecombe and Wise re-runs, bought the most garish jumper on the planet and inhaled your body weight in mince pies.

Yet you're still not feeling quite festive enough. Thankfully there is still so much more fun to be had in the run up to Christmas Day, so here are a few ideas to wet your appetite.

TODAY, DECEMBER 19

Breakfast at Radiant with Father Christmas

For kiddies who are excited for Christmas, why not join Santa at a magical feasting table set inside a gigantic snowstorm? Radiant Gallery is hosting a morning with the man himself where you can sit down for a beautiful breakfast and watch as your children chat to St Nick about what presents they're wishing for this year.

TOMORROW, DECEMBER 20

Cotehele Flower Garland

Forget the Christmas wreath, how about a 100ft flower garland? The gardeners at Cotehele have created the largest flower garland in the UK as part of a Christmas tradition that goes back nearly 60 years and are welcoming one-and-all to take a look. The Tamar Valley Male Voice Choir will also be performing at the house tomorrow, so why not have an explore and grab a smooch under the mistletoe while you're there?

DECEMBER 21

Winter Solstice Charity Ball

National Marine Aquarium is hosting the Winter Solstice Charity Ball, raising funds for Refugee aid charity Open Hearts Open Border. 'Tis the season of goodwill, so why not support the cause? There will be raffle prizes to be won in addition to musical entertainment from local talent Antimatador and Alex Hart and burlesque dancers Dixiee Daggers and Sammy Dodger.

DECEMBER 22

Wonder Nights at Mount Edgcumbe

Looking for a less traditional way to get in the mood for the big day? Mount Edgcumbe are offering the opportunity for festive fantatics to ride one of their segways across the grounds ... in the dark. Surrounded by twinkling lights and Christmas trees, this is a great opportunity to pull on your favourite bobble hat and knitted scarf and explore the historic site.

Carols in the Courtyard at Saltram House

Saltram House is wishing everyone a very merry Christmas with a night of carols in their courtyard on Wednesday. Sing along, sip mulled wine, and munch roasted chestnuts in the company of your friends and family for a truly special and seasonal evening set behind a stunning and historic backdrop.
